ProveItBro ("ProveItBro", "we", "us") runs the websites proveitbro.com, play.proveitbro.com and app.proveitbro.com, where you can play browser games, keep game progress, and appear on leaderboards. This policy explains what data we process, why, who we share it with, and the rights you have. We are the data controller for the processing described here.
Playing as a Guest
You can play without an account. When you first open a game we create a random device identifier (an anonymous_id) and store it in your browser. It lets us save your game progress and high scores on that device, show your result on leaderboards under an auto-generated nickname, and protect scores from cheating. It is not linked to your real identity. Guest progress and scores are kept for up to 90 days of inactivity and then deleted.
Player Accounts (Google Sign-In)
If you choose to sign in, we use Google as the only login method. From your Google account we receive your name, profile picture and email address. We use these to create your ProveItBro profile, show your chosen display name on leaderboards, and let your progress and scores follow you across devices. You control your display name in your account settings. We never post anything to your Google account and do not receive your Google password.
Data We Process
- Account data — display name, avatar URL and email (from Google) for signed-in players.
- Gameplay data — game progress (cloud saves), scores, run and session identifiers, moves and timing used to validate scores and power leaderboards.
- Favorites — the games you save to your account.
- Technical & security data — IP address, request headers, approximate country, rate-limit and anti-abuse signals, and CAPTCHA (Cloudflare Turnstile) results, used to keep the service available and prevent cheating and abuse.
- Preferences — such as your theme choice, stored locally in your browser.
Cookies and Local Storage
We use a small number of cookies and browser storage items:
hopp_anon_id— your guest device identifier for saves, scores and leaderboards (essential; up to 365 days).- Supabase authentication cookies — keep you signed in across proveitbro.com and app.proveitbro.com (essential, only when you sign in).
- Local storage — game saves, high scores, and your theme preference.
- Meta Pixel may set analytics cookies when you visit our pages. Simple Analytics does not use cookies.
You can clear cookies and local storage in your browser at any time; doing so removes guest progress stored only on that device.
Analytics
We send gameplay events to Mixpanel (EU data centre, api-eu.mixpanel.com) to understand how games are used and improve them. Simple Analytics measures visits without cookies or personal visitor profiles. Meta Pixel measures website interactions. These services operate when you use the site; there is no consent banner or analytics switch on this page.
For Mixpanel, we hash your player identifier and do not send your IP address or email. We do send approximate location fields provided by Cloudflare (country, region, city and timezone), along with a parsed device and browser type. Simple Analytics and Meta process data under their own privacy policies.
Leaderboards
Leaderboards are public. They show a player's best accepted score together with a display name — your profile name if you are signed in, or an auto-generated guest nickname otherwise. They do not reveal your email or exact identity. Scores flagged by our anti-cheat checks are excluded from public leaderboards.
How We Use Data
- Run games and save and sync your progress, favorites and scores.
- Operate leaderboards and validate scores against cheating.
- Keep you signed in and manage your profile.
- Secure the service against abuse, spam, automated traffic and fraud.
- Measure and improve gameplay using analytics.
- Diagnose errors and monitor availability and performance.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
Legal Bases (EEA/UK)
- Contract — providing games, accounts, cloud saves and leaderboards you ask for.
- Legitimate interests — security, anti-cheat, abuse prevention and service improvement, including usage analysis.
- Legal obligation — where the law requires us to retain or disclose data.
Service Providers (Sub-processors)
We rely on a small set of trusted providers who process data on our behalf:
- Supabase (EU region) — database, authentication and file storage for accounts, progress, scores and game assets.
- Cloudflare — website and API hosting, content delivery (CDN/R2), security, rate limiting and the Turnstile CAPTCHA.
- Google — Sign-In (OAuth) when you choose to log in.
- Mixpanel (EU) — gameplay analytics.
- Simple Analytics — cookie-free website analytics.
- Meta — website interaction measurement.
Some providers may process data outside your country under appropriate safeguards (such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses). External links from our site lead to services we do not control, governed by their own policies.
Data Retention
- Guest progress and scores — up to 90 days of inactivity, then deleted.
- Account data (profile, favorites, cloud saves) — until you delete your account.
- Scores — kept for leaderboard integrity; on account deletion they are anonymised (detached from your identity) rather than removed, unless the law requires deletion.
- Security and audit logs — kept for a limited period for safety and legal reasons, without unnecessary personal detail.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your data, and to data portability. You can:
- Edit your display name in your account settings.
- Delete your account and its data at any time from app.proveitbro.com (Account → Security → Delete account). This removes your profile, favorites and cloud saves and detaches your scores from your identity.
- Contact us at hey@proveitbro.com to exercise any other right. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
Children
ProveItBro is intended for a general audience. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, and where you are below the age of digital consent in your country, only with the consent of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below these ages. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will remove it.
Security
We use signed tokens, access controls, encrypted transport and edge security to protect data. No online service is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe and to limit what we collect.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as ProveItBro evolves. The "Last updated" date shows the current version, and material changes will be reflected here.
